A behind-the-scenes look of our rich history of sparkling winemaking. The tour will begin with an explanation of our estate vineyards focusing on the classic Champagne grapes Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier. The tour continues underground to our historic cellar built in 1886. Here you will learn the process of méthode Champenoise including bottling, aging, and disgorgment while tasting through several examples of our sparkling wines. At the conclusion of the tour, a seated flight of wines are paired with the chef’s seasonal bites where you taste our remaining sparkling wines and still wines produced by Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Boater Safety Course

On July 13th the Finger Lakes Boating Museum is offering the NYS Boater Safety Course, taught by Scott Johnson, FLBM Trustee and NYS Certified Instructor. This one day course is designed to teach the fundamentals of safe boating operations, and is open to students ages ten and up. The course will be held at the Museum, 8231 Pleasant Valley Road, Hammondsport, from 10AM to 5PM. There is a $30 program fee for members and $35 for nonmembers. Students ages 18 and up are required to pay a $10 fee to NYS.

Tour de Keuka is an annual charity bike ride that benefits the Food Bank of the Southern Tier. To participate in a 17, 45, 60 or 100-mile ride, cyclists raise money to feed families struggling with hunger. Taking place in New York’s Finger Lakes region, participants begin the ride in Hammondsport and travel around stunning Keuka Lake.

Finger Lakes Chamber Music Festival

The tour begins at the Dr. Konstantin Frank winery where we head underground to our barrel cellar. Here you will learn the process of barrel production, the different types of oak and where they originate from, and alternatives to barrel aging with amphora. We will taste two wines, one unoaked and one oaked, to explore the differences between them, and taste current vintage wines aging in barrel. At the conclusion of the tour, a seated flight of wines are paired with the chef’s seasonal bites where you taste wines that have aged in barrel of varying levels of new oak and time. Palettes of Keuka Auction

Launched in 2007, the PKAT — with the help of dozens of volunteers, businesses, and residents — distribute over 25 oversized palettes painted by artists throughout Hammondsport. These works of art line the streets of the town until the end of summer when they are auctioned off on Labor Day Weekend in the village square.

Undoubtedly the most beautiful time in the vineyard where the green grapes change to shades of yellow and red. The tour begins with a hands-on grape sampling exercise where we figure out the ripeness of a vineyard block. A wine educator explains the internal changes of a grape during veraison and considerations leading up to the decision to start harvesting. We will explain the difference of hand-picking versus machine-picking and why technology plays a major part. Depending on the harvest timeline, a demonstration of hand-sorting and pressing may be possible. At the conclusion of the tour, a seated flight of wines are paired with the chef’s seasonal creative bites. Every Friday & Saturday at 11:00 AM or 2:00 PM, and Sunday at 2:00 PM in September.

The tour begins at the Dr. Konstantin Frank winery where we head underground to our barrel cellar. Here you will learn the process of barrel production, the different types of oak and where they originate from, and alternatives to barrel aging with amphora. We will taste two wines, one unoaked and one oaked, to explore the differences between them, and taste current vintage wines aging in barrel. At the conclusion of the tour, a seated flight of wines are paired with the chef’s seasonal bites where you taste wines that have aged in barrel of varying levels of new oak and time. Every Friday & Saturday at 11:00 AM or 2:00 PM, and Sundays at 2:00 PM in October.

There is both abstract and representational work in media including photography, oil painting, water color, ink on paper, ceramic sculpture and mixed media collage. NYS Boater Safety Course

: On June 15th the Finger Lakes Boating Museum is offering the NYS Boater Safety Course, taught by Scott Johnson, FLBM Trustee and NYS Certified Instructor.

This one day course is designed to teach the fundamentals of safe boating operations, and is open to students ages ten and up.  The course will be held at the Museum, 8231 Pleasant Valley Road, Hammondsport, from 10AM to 5PM. There is a $30 program fee for members and $35 for nonmembers. Students ages 18 and up are required to pay a $10 fee to NYS.
