Music in the Park | Every Thursday in July-August
Music in the Park returns this summer with another exciting lineup of artists! This fun and family-friendly series of summer events will be held every Thursday (weather permitting!) during July & August from 6p - 8p. What better way to enjoy this event than with a delicious meal from one of our many restaurants that offer outdoor seating? Many of our shoppes will be open as well! Event programs will be available at the Visitor Center (and on the hammondsport.org homepage) in the coming weeks and include more information about the performing artists, our sponsors, and general area info. Palettes of Keuka Area Art Display | July-August
The Palettes of Keuka Area Art Display officially kicks off on July 1st! You’ll find 30+ giant artist palettes, painted by Hammondsport’s favorite local artists, on display at multiple businesses in and around the village of Hammondsport. An ABSOLUTE must see, especially for you art lovers out there. Stop by the Visitor Center (47 Shethar Street) to pick up your palette map + puzzle and discover where all the locations are, filling in your puzzle with clues found at each location as you go. And if you just so happen to fall in love with one, or two, or five of the palettes, come back on Saturday, August 31st for the official Palettes of Keuka Art Auction to purchase your favorite painting and to support the artists!
Returning to Hammondsport July 4th-6th is The Fire Department’s Fireman’s Carnival —taking place right next to beautiful Keuka Lake where you’ll find friends and families grilling out and swimming in the refreshing water! Whether you’re in town for the weekend or just visiting for the evening, you absolutely must bring your kids (or adult friends ‘cause there’s beer and wonderful fried goodies just waiting for you). You’ll find a variety of classic small-town rides and games for the young and the young at heart to enjoy. Saturday morning, experience the thrill of riding in a big red fire truck from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM and the Fireman’s Parade later that day beginning at 6:00! And of course, don’t miss Hammondsport’s famous firework show (also put on by our wonderful Fire Department) on Saturday, July 6th starting around 10:30 PM.
Keuka Lake Art Show | July 6-7
The Keuka Lake Art Association 53rd Annual Art Show is a fine arts show held on Saturday, July 6th - Sunday, July 7th from 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM on the village square in Hammondsport. At this show, you’ll discover numerous talented local artists and their craft from pottery, photography, hand-crafted jewelry, paintings in various mediums, sculptures, and much more. Many of our shoppes and restaurants will be open as well for shopping and dining!
Tour de Keuka | July 20
Tour de Keuka is an annual charity bike ride that benefits the Food Bank of the Southern Tier. To participate in a 17, 45, 60 or 100-mile ride, cyclists raise money to feed families struggling with hunger. Taking place in New York’s Finger Lakes region, participants begin the ride in Hammondsport and travel around stunning Keuka Lake. One in 8 people in the Southern Tier struggle with hunger. Every cyclist raises enough funds to provide at least 450 meals for people in need in the Southern Tier, making a direct and significant impact on the life of a child, senior or family. Wine Country Classic Boats’ Boat & Car Show | July 20-21
The 37th Annual Antique Boat Show hosted by Wine Country Classic Boats returns July 20-21 in Depot Park! This event is free and perfect for people of all ages! You’ll love strolling down the docks at Depot Park as you enjoy the unique display of classic wooden and fiberglass boats built in the 1950s, but only after you check out the incredible array of classic cars lined up Shethar Street! Come by on Saturday (10:00 AM - 5: 00 PM) and enjoy the parade of boats led by our very own Hammondsport Fire Department at 3:00! There will also be a judged show by the ACBS with an award ceremony at the Glenn H. Curtiss Museum at 6:00 (must register in advance). And of course, you won’t want to miss out on the Poker Run Regatta at 10:15 AM on Sunday and enjoy the chicken barbecue sponsored by the Boy Scouts at noon.
