Saturday April 27, 2019. Hike the Mitchellsville gorge rim section of the Finger Lakes Trail. This is the first in a series of “downhill” hikes this year that the “Friends” will hold to help introduce people to the marvels of the local trails. Approximately 2.2 miles from County Route 13 to the Urbana Town Hall on Pleasant Valley Road, a leisurely two hours with nature. Between 9 AM and 10:30 AM “Friends” will drive hikers to the start, leave your car at the Town hall parking lot, hike the trail and have a hot dog when you get to the Town Hall. This section of the FLT (Finger Lakes Trail) is mentioned as one of the most scenic sections of the overall FLT system. It is also part of the North Country Scenic Trail System. Take a hike and be a “Friend”. The next scheduled meeting of “Friends” is Wed. April 10th at the Urbana Town Hall at 6 PM. All are welcome.
